This embroidery work was made for the 2-person show Bleibt man an einem Ort, oder nicht at Mikiko Sato Gallery Hamburg in 2016. The inspirations for this embroidery came from the scenes in the video work by Shingo Yoshida The end of day and beginning of the world (2015), who was the other participant in the 2-person show. In his video work, he is walking in deep snow, which was filmed when he ventured to a region near the North Pole and made based on the legend in the area. Although video footage moves and yet embroidery stays still, I attempted to make a video-like embroidery to capture time.
